PSG: Malacañang under lockdown starting March 28

As a preventive measure against COVID-19, the Presidential Security Group (PSG) will implement a lockdown in Malacañang starting 12 a.m. on March 28.

PSG Commander Jesus Durante III said the lockdown is effective for all personnel and their dependents residing at the Malacañang complex. This means the entry and exit within their range are temporarily prohibited.

Durante clarified employees inside the complex who are part of the skeletal workforce are allowed to enter, as long as they undergo screening procedures.

“Actually, I just require all PSG personnel to go on self-quarantine up to April 10. Because, I consider actually, with the incidence, nung mga nangyari (what happened) for the past few days, and to think even some people have tested positive, alam niyo naman siguro ‘yon (I think you know it), doon sa (in) Camp Aguinaldo, they’ve been here. So just to be safe, I directed all the PSG personnel to go on self-quarantine. So, nobody goes in, nobody goes out for all PSG personnel dito sa (here at the) Malacanang complex,” Durante explained.
