As the fight against the deadly COVID-19 disease continues across the country, the government is pulling out all the stops to effectively implement its “carrier-centric” approach in addressing the pandemic.
On the second and third week of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), National Task Force (NTF) against COVID-19 Chief Implementer Carlito G. Galvez, Jr. visited several hospitals and repurposed quarantine facilities to assess the needs of the medical frontliners and ensure that safety protocols prescribed by the Department of Health (DOH) are strictly met.
The NTF also delivered Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) sets to the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital, the Lung Center of the Philippines, and Marikina Valley Medical Center.
Meanwhile, Galvez, along with other top government officials, inspected various quarantine facilities such as the Rizal Memorial Complex, World Trade Center, Philippine International Convention Center, and Philippine Arena, to assess the status of their completion and ensure that the materials being used are of high quality.
“All these efforts are complementary to the mass testing which will be done very soon. We have to ensure a smooth flow of operations, from the testing centers, to the COVID-referral hospitals, up to the quarantine facilities for the COVID-19 positive patients who are asymptomatic, or exhibiting mild or moderate symptoms,” Galvez said.
