Several gov’t agencies open during Holy Week, Cab. Sec. Nograles asks public to honor frontliners

Several government agencies will continue operations during Holy Week to assist the needs of Filipinos under the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.

According to IATF Spokesperson and Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles, the field offices of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) “will continue processing establishment reports even during the Holy Week to speed up the processing of assistance, and we have entered into an agreement with Land Bank for the expeditious release and remittance of funds through their branches and ATMs nationwide. “

The implementation of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Social Amelioration Program is still ongoing.

The social welfare agency will also issue checks for emergency subsidies in different local government units (LGUs) in Metro Manila that have completed their requirements such as Manila, Parañaque, Caloocan, Marikina, Pasig, Quezon City, Mandaluyong, Muntinlupa, and Taguig.

Meanwhile, Cab Sec. Nograles has lauded the frontliners who have the biggest sacrifice. As part of the Day of Valor celebration, he has asked the public to honor the frontliners in any way they can.

“Every day, beginning tomorrow, we urge our countrymen to go to their doorways or their windows to applaud the medical workers, police, military, skeletal workforces from the public and private sectors, LGU employees distributing relief goods, and the members of the media. Sa mga gusto ng mas modern na approach dito, pwede rin tayo mag share ng videos natin via Facebook, Instagram, o Tiktok. (To those who want a modern approach, we can share videos in Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok.)” – Report from Mela Lesmoras
