DOLE suspends CAMP online application

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has suspended its COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) online application on April 15 due to lack of funds.

The DOLE has coordinated with the Department of Finance (DOF) in distributing aid to employees affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine.

According to DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III, he asked DOF Secretary Carlos Dominguez to assist in the applications that were not administered due to the cut-off.

DOLE will still process the papers of companies and employees that have submitted their requirements, and if eligible, they will endorse the companies and employees in the Wage Subsidy Program of the DOF.

The DOLE “has been swamped with volumes of requests that the available fund for the program amounting to P1.6 billion is very close to being depleted.”

DOLE Sec. Bello has explained that 630,000 employees have been estimated to be given aid, but the applications have reached 1.6 million nationwide. The agency needed to cut-off the applications since they have exceeded the budget.

There are currently 236,412 employees who have received aid from DOLE, and the department can only accommodate more than 300,000 employees.
