Implementation of a stricter ECQ, plotted

Amid the increasing number of those infected with the coronavirus disease 19, and the continuously growing number of ECQ related violations, a stricter implementation of the enhanced community quarantine related laws was looked into to finally resolve the plight against ECQ violators.

In line with this, SAF and APF committed to aid in the deployment of troops to facilitate the intensified implementation of ECQ in the Metro.

In a teleconference held on April 21, 2020, coordination was made with TFC, JTF-NCR and F3, SAF with regard to the invigoration of the current implementation of ECQ.

The PNP SAF devoted to deploy 12 teams with 8 personnel each comprising a total strength of 96 persons together with 20 support drivers making a grand total of 116 personel from the Special Action Force.

The fully armed SAF augmentation team will be deployed from 6:00AM to 12:00 noon daily in the following Cities:

1. Manila City;
2. Pasay City;
3. Pasig City;
4. Taguig City;
5. Las Piñas City ;
6. Caloocan City;
7. Muntinlupa City;
8. Parañaque City; and
9. Marikina City.

Meanwhile, TFC, JTF-NCR dedicated to deploy 525 reservist supervised by a regular army personnel armed with short fire arms. They will be deployed in the following areas:

1. Pateros;
2. Quezon City;
3. Parañaque City;
4. Manila City;
5. Taguig City;
6. Makati City; and
7. Pasay City

To ensure the welfare of the deployed personnel, it was guaranteed that they will be equiped with basic personal protective gears such as masks, gloves, face shields and disinfectants.

Vehicles of SAF and JTF-NCR are also mobilized to facilitate their transport. SAF devoted to provide meals for their personnel while the LGUs shall provide for the augmented AFP personnel.

It was also agreed upon in the same teleconference that no deployment of troops shall take place without the local police force. The DDs and COPs of the area shall be responsible for the deployment of augmented personnel to avoid duplication.

Finally, it was settled that lateral coordination must de observed and that proper coordination with the respective Local Chief Executives shall be made prior to deployment.

The collaborated effort of NCRPO, SAF, JTF-NCR, LGUs and other concerned agencies aims to finally deter possible violators of ECQ related laws to ultimately prevent further spread of the Covid 19 pandemic.

“We are exerting all possible effort to strictly enforce ECQ related laws in coordination with other units, LGUs and agencies. All we ask is for our citizens to cooperate to finally put an end to this health crisis,” said PMGEN Sinas.
