Malacañang has ordered the Department of Education (DepEd) to assess the possibility of opening classes on August or September instead of June due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) crisis as recommended by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).
According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, there will be no problem if the DepEd considers this recommendation of the IATF-EID.
The government’s concern is the private school teachers and part-time teachers since their salary is affected by the crisis, although they may reach out to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for financial aid. – PTV News
