14 new confirmed positive cases in NCRPO

Regional Director, PMGen Debold M. Sinas confirms additional fourteen (14) positive cases of COVID 19 in National Capital Region Police Office, with a total of forty-seven (47).

According to Quezon City Police District, the nasopharyngeal swab was conducted on April 25, 2020 and the result was released yesterday, May 07, 2020. Among the 320 tested frontliners, four (4) Police Commissioned Officers (PCOs) and ten (10) Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs) yielded positive results.

The fourteen positive patients are now isolated and monitored at the Hinirang Hall, QCPD. As part of the precautionary measures, NCRPO Chief ordered all personnel who have direct contact with the patients to undergo quarantine and health monitoring by the Regional and District Health Service.

The District Director of QCPD who tested negative to covid 19 assured that they are currently conducting contact tracing and analysis to identify the people they may have close contact with and determine the source and reason of infection.

PMGEN SINAS underscored the importance of target group testing to all frontliners manning the Metropolitans Qurantine Control Points. “This is the very reason why we are pursuing the testing for all our frontliners. We understand that the risk of contamination is high because of the nature of our work. Nevertheless, we assure the public and their families that we are exerting efforts to continuously provide necessary protection for them on a regular basis,” PMGEN said.

“We will continue to conduct the target group testing to the men and women of NCRPO. As frontliners, we will not conceal our medical condition and will never prejudice the health and safety of others by ensuring that we are healthy and fit,” he added.
