PRRD asks public not to be complacent until COVID-19 is quelled

President Rodrigo Duterte has asked the public not to be complacent no matter what kind of quarantine measure is implemented until COVID-19 is fully quelled.

The Chief Executive said wearing of face masks when outside and practicing social distancing are still required anywhere in the country.

He clarified the easing up of restrictions does not mean COVID-19 is gone, and added the country “cannot afford a second or third wave” to happen.

Meanwhile, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque stated the IATF-EID has already approved the additional five million families as beneficiaries of the first tranche of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP). But only beneficiaries under ECQ will receive the SAP aid on the second tranche.

President Duterte has ordered the DSWD to tap the Armed Forces for the distribution of cash aid.

The Palace issued a warning amid the reported anomalies in the distribution of assistance and disclosed that 183 cases are now being investigated by the DILG. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
