President Duterte approves additional 5 million SAP beneficiaries

President Rodrigo Duterte has approved additional 5 million beneficiaries for the first tranche of the Social Amelioration Program.

The Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) has clarified that only residents of areas under Enhanced Community Quarantine will be given aid. The IATF-EID also knows the difficulties in the SAP distribution of the first tranche. With this, the Palace has warned corrupt officials that they will be arrested.

Meanwhile, the DSWD has distributed over PhP 90 million aid for more than 16 million SAP beneficiaries on the first batch. The agency also urges Local Government Units (LGUs) to submit their liquidation report for the first wave of the SAP distribution for DSWD validation and to hasten the processing of the second tranche of SAP funds.
