Malacañang on Thursday has issued new directives from the latest meeting of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced during a press briefing the IATF placed low-risk areas under general community quarantine from May 16 to 31. The IATF also allowed local government units to buy and use FDA-approved rapid antibody test kits for their constituents.
Roque explained there is a possibility of changes in quarantine classifications in the coming days as some provinces are eyeing to transfer from GCQ to MECQ or vice versa.
COVID-19 National Deputy Chief Implementer Vince Dizon disclosed there are now 30 COVID-19 laboratories in the country, and the daily testing capacity is now at 14,500.
Malacaῆang also assured the government is ready to address other concerns such as Typhoon Ambo by maintaining social distancing in evacuation centers and aid distribution.
Meanwhile, the office of the Executive Secretary will soon release a memorandum on the guidelines of the second tranche of SAP. ##
