SAP second tranche distribution to be easier, quicker

The distribution of financial assistance under the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will become easier and faster in its second tranche payout.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque shared that the additional five million beneficiaries are currently being verified and added they expect it to be faster since the financial aid will be given through digital payment.

The DSWD said the identification of qualified poor Filipino SAP beneficiaries will also become easier as aspiring beneficiaries can use and enroll in the agency’s newly launched application “Relief Agad.”

Social Welfare Chief Rolando Bautista pointed out that liquidation of local government units should be submitted before the rollout of the cash aid. There are currently 1,505 out of 1,634 LGUs that have completed the SAP distribution but only 711 submitted their liquidation reports.

The DILG has given LGUs until May 28 to submit the said reports and the encoded list of second tranche beneficiaries.
