The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) disclosed it has continued to provide medical services despite the halt in gaming operations amid the implementation of the community quarantine.
The PCSO has distributed almost Php 27 billion through its medical access program or an equivalent of Php 30 million per week. It also reported on Saturday that the two batches of patient transport vehicles have been handed over to Luzon areas while Php 300 million worth of assistance has been handed over to hospitals to buy equipment to address COVID-19.
“Ang lahat po ng branch natin pwede po lumapit ang ating mga nangangailangan ng charity assistance (Those in need of charity assistance may go to any of our branches),” PCSO General Manager Royina Garma said.
Garma added that there is also an online application for medical assistance.
Meanwhile, it has been clarified that lotto tickets that have been bought a day before the community quarantine can still be used in the 15 days of special draws that will be conducted once operations resume.
“Kung mananalo sila, important lang po naitago nila ticket nila… Valid pa rin po lahat po iyon (If they win, it is important that they keep their tickets… It will all be valid),” Garma explained.
