Palace delivers Rizal Day message

Malacañang is one with the celebration of Dr. Jose Rizal’s 159th birthday anniversary.

According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, “The life of our greatest national hero is a testament of how a single person’s deep love for his country could spark the re-awakening of our forefathers’ desire for freedom and change.”

Secretary Roque stated that this occasion is a reminder of our national hero’s dedication for the good of the country. He likened the service of the frontliners, the modern-day heroes, to the service of Jose Rizal amid the pandemic.

“We ask our people, the youth in particular, whom our beloved hero referred to as the’hope for our future’ to take inspiration from his life and emulate his principles to be agents of genuine transformation for a better Philippines.”

Sec. Roque also asked the public to “take inspiration” from the nation’s great polymath and follow his principles that may be used for the country’s progress.
