During the Network Briefing News program, Secretary Andanar said that the government recognizes the challenges that the global health problem has brought to the country.
“Kami po sa pamahalaan sa pangunguna ng ating Pangulong Digong Duterte, ramdam po namin ang pagkakabagot sa karamihan sa atin dahil sa pandaigdigang kaganapan sa larangan ng kalusugan [We in the government, in the leadership of President Rodrigo Duterte recognized the emerging challenges caused by this global happening in the field of health],” he said.

“Maniwala po kayo o sa hindi, ginagawa po ng pamahalaan ang lahat ng dapat gawin upang kahit papaano ay maibsan ang epekto ng epipemyang kinakaharap natin [Believe it or not, the government is doing everything to provide relief and lessen the effects of the epidemic that we are facing now],” he added.

Secretary Andanar also appealed to the public to patiently wait for the assistance of the government during the COVID-19 crisis, as they are exhausting all efforts to provide relief.
“Ang tanging hiling lang po natin ay ibayuhin pa ang ating pasensya, eh para naman sa atin to. Tiwala lang po sa proseso. Let us do our part, let us be patient [We are appealing (to the public) to remain patient because this is also for your welfare. Trust the process. Let us do our part, let us be patient],” he said.

1.3 million beneficiaries receive second tranche of SAP

As of the morning of June 23, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has reported that there are already more than 1.3 million family beneficiaries who received cash aid from the second tranche distribution of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP), amounting to over P6 billion.

These include the families listed under the agency’s 4Ps and waitlisted beneficiaries submitted by LGUs from Region I, CAR, and Region III, who have completed their reports from the first tranche of SAP distribution.

Meanwhile, the DSWD is still continuously validating the submitted reports of the local government units to make sure that there will be no duplication of assistance on the second tranche.

According to DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista during the program, there are over 51,000 cases of duplication based on their post-validation.

“Base sa post-validation na ginagawa ng ating mga field offices ay mayroon nang 51,563 recipients ng first tranche ng SAP ang may nakitang duplikasyon na nakatanggap din ng ayuda galing sa ibang ahensya ng gobyerno (Based on the post-validation by our field offices, there are 51,563 recipients found to have received assistance from other agencies)” he said.

“Ine-emphasize lang natin dito kung gaano ka importante ang balidasyon na ginagawa ng ating mga field offices para makuha natin yung clean list at iyon naman ay mabibigyan ng ayuda para sa second tranche [We are emphasizing the importance of validation to obtain the clean list of families that will benefit the second tranche],” Secretary Bautista noted.
