Palace understands view of Filipinos on quality of life in the next 12 months

Malacañang said it understands the number of Filipinos who expect their quality of life “to worsen” in the next 12 months.

Based on the new Social Weather Stations (SWS) Survey, 43 percent of working-age Filipinos are “expecting their quality-of-life to worsen,” while those who believe it would stay the same and improve had a 24 percent rating each.

“Well, iyan naman po ay kasagsagan pa rin ng quarantine natin. At siyempre po, alam naman natin na dahil nagsara ang ekonomiya ay talagang mahihirapan po ang buong bansa, ang buong mundo, hindi lang naman po ang Pilipinas (Well, that was at the height of the quarantine. Of course we know when the economy closed, the whole country suffered as did the world, not just the Philippines),” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque cited.

“Dahil kinakailangan lahat tayo ay bumangon at hindi po madali itong proseso ng pagbangon – naiintindihan po natin iyan (Since we need to rise up and the process of recovery is not easy, we understand),” he added.

The COVID-19 Mobile Survey of the SWS was conducted through mobile phone and computer-assisted telephone interviewing to 4,010 Filipinos aged 15 years old and above nationwide from May 4 to 10. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
