BIR pushes for digital transformation of services

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) is continuously pushing for the digital transformation of its services to keep the public away from the threat of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outside their homes.

According to the data of the Department of Finance (DOF), the collection in their electronic channels has reached Php 1.2 billion or 94 percent compared to that of 2018.

The BIR and DOF, along with several experts, have emphasized the importance of an easier process of collecting taxes. More collected taxes will give way to the strengthening and recovery of the Philippine economy. – PTV News
