NBI nabs PSC employee over fake payroll

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested an employee of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) for fabricating a fake payroll of athletes and coaches.

The employee, Paul Michael Padua Ignacio, was tasked to do the payroll of athletes and coaches. Based on the investigation of the NBI, Ignacio adds names of the unqualified athletes and coaches in the payroll using his own account number.

Ignacio has gotten an estimate of over Php 14 million since 2015. He will face charges of qualified theft, falsification of public documents and violation of the Cybercrime Prevention Act. – Report from Kenneth Paciente
