Malacañang is open to any investigation on COVID-19 expenses

Malacañang is open to any investigation on the government’s expenses in response to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

The statement was made by Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque after the filing of a new resolution at the Senate that urges the Commission on Audit (COA) to examine the COVID-19-related government expenditures.

According to Secretary Roque, the government has been transparent with its reports from the start of the health emergency. President Rodrigo R. Duterte has also been regularly submitting his report to Congress as required by the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act.

(We are transparent and the government has been giving reports to the Congress, the reports were regular. And now, we are expecting a second phase, our reporting will continue and all of these are under the Commission on Audit and we have nothing to hide.)” – Report from Mela Lesmoras
