PRRD defends government’s strides against COVID-19

President Rodrigo R. Duterte has strongly defended the government’s steps against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic in his public address on Sunday night.

The President has pointed out that the government is not the enemy of the people and not “inutile” amid the health crisis in the country.

The Chief Executive has stated that authorities are taking specific measures to control the situation and asked the public for cooperation.

President Duterte has ensured the medical community that he hears their pleas and has called on Congress to approve the bill pushing for additional benefits for health care workers such as free and frequent COVID-19 testing, free life insurance, free transportation and additional financial incentives. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
