Starting Tuesday, August 4, the operations of the Pasig River Ferry Service (PRFS) will only be limited to health care frontliners and government employees in support of their need for transportation with the re-imposition of modified community quarantine (MECQ) over Metro Manila.
Free ferry rides will be available at the following stations: Pinagbuhatan, San Joaquin, Guadalupe, Valenzuela, Lawton and Escolta to assist health workers and government employees who need to report for work.
The ferry boat trip routes are as follows: Pinagbuhatan to Guadalupe, Guadalupe to Escolta and vice versa, and Guadalupe to San Joaquin and vice versa.
Health care frontliners and government employees just need to present valid identification cards to avail of the free rides from Monday to Saturday, 6am up to 6pm.
“We hope that this effort will be helpful for our health workers and government employees in their transportation needs going to their respective workplaces,” said Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Danilo Lim.
As precautionary measure against the spread of the COVID-19, the PRFS is implementing the following health and safety protocols:
• No mask, no entry;
• Physical distancing shall be observed at all times; only 50% capacity of the boat will be allowed
• Passenger who has colds, cough or body temperature with greater than 37.5 degrees Celsius will not be allowed to enter the PRFS premises; and
• Only persons aged 21-59 years old will be allowed to board ferry boats.
Upon entering the ferry station, health care frontliner and government employees will be required to undergo temperature check. They must also fill-out the manifest form and accomplish the commuter information sheet.
