Statement of Secretary Martin Andanar on the confirmed COVID-19 positive cases in PCOO and its attached agencies

We regret to inform everyone of the additional COVID-19 cases among our PCOO personnel who were infected while performing their duties to the public. Among those infected are personnel from the PCOO Proper and our attached agencies APO, NPO, PIA, PTV, and RTVM also have active cases. Two of the said agencies, NPO and RTVM, are currently on lockdown.

We continue to take proactive measures to address the situation as our office immediately conducted another batch of testing and contact tracing of the primary and secondary contacts of those newly infected among our staff. We will also continue our assistance and support to the family of those who have been infected by COVID-19, in the same way that we ensure the safety of all our personnel against the virus.

Our COVID-19 Response Team, composed of COVID-19 Warriors from every office within PCOO, continue to be on hand to coordinate all of the office’s efforts on contact tracing, testing, monitoring, and isolation/quarantine. Amidst this current situation, we continue to provide complete support to our staff towards their complete recovery.

Rest assured that the delivery of essential and timely information to the Filipino public will continue despite the unfortunate circumstance we are facing. As work at the New Executive Building (NEB) remains suspended, PCOO continues to adopt a work-from-home arrangement in order to fulfill its obligations and mandate to the Filipino people.

We pray for the speedy recovery of our colleagues, as we endeavor with the whole Duterte administration and all our fellow Filipinos to heal and rise as one nation.
