DTI comes up with new company health protocols under MECQ

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez has presented to President Rodrigo R. Duterte the new health protocols that must be implemented in companies and offices under the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ).

According to Presidential and Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) Spokesperson Harry Roque, dining in company canteens and common smoking areas are now prohibited. Physical distancing and wearing of face masks and face shields must always be maintained in the office especially inside a common room. Washing of hands and disinfection must be done often and temperature checks of employees and visitors must be observed as well. The company must also provide a shuttle service for the commuting employees.

Employees must undergo training regarding the new health protocol standards.

An Occupational Safety and Health Protocol Committee must be created and a Health Protocol Officer must be designated for stringent implementation of the protocols inside the office.

Concerned agencies will conduct visits and audits of workplaces.
