DTI to investigate companies aiding China campaign for territorial claims in WPS

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is set to investigate companies aiding China in its campaign for territorial claims in the West Philippine Sea.

The investigation has been set after Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Teodoro Locsin Junior recommended to discontinue the contracts and cooperation of the Philippines to companies that are conducting reclamation activities.

The United States of America has initially prohibited around 24 Chinese companies to buy American products due to their involvement in the establishment of artificial islands in the contested territory.
