2 Filipinos perish in Abu Dhabi gas explosion

Two Filipinos have died in a gas explosion in a restaurant along Airport Road, Abu Dhabi.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has confirmed this and “Ambassador Hjayceelyn M. Quintana has reached out to the families of the deceased to express condolences and to give assurance that they will be provided all necessary assistance.”

The Embassy in United Arab Emirates has been continuously coordinating with the authorities to help afflicted Filipinos who are currently recovering in hospitals.

The DFA has reminded Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWS) to take the necessary precautions and be aware of UAE’s safety measures.
