“At the moment, we have 14 barangays already in lockdown, total lockdown. And then I think there are 3 or 4 more which we are going to make a decision anytime. We already have a total of almost 600 active cases and medyo mabilis ang pagtaas ng cases (the increase in the number of cases is a quite fast). But we also have to understand that Iloilo City has been aggressively mass testing. We have more 27,000 tests already in Iloilo City.”
Mayor Treñas assured that the response against COVID-19 has been strengthened especially now that the situation in the city’s hospitals and facilities is critical.
“Ang critical care facility natin, sa hospitals are almost reaching highly critical levels. Sa atin naman sa quarantine and isolation centers, they are now about 60% capacity. (Our critical care facility in the hospitals are almost reaching high critical levels while the quarantine and isolation centers are now about 60% capacity).”
