COMELEC eyes 3-day election in 2022

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) is considering a 3-day election in 2022.

COMELEC Executive Director Bartolome Sinocruz Jr. broached the idea in case the country will not be able to recover from the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on 2022. This is meant to control the number of voters going to the polling precincts on the day of the elections. However, the commission has clarified that it is still being studied by its legal team.

Sinocruz also disclosed that online filing of certificates of candidacy and schedule of filing per position are being reviewed.
