‘No Beep card, no ride’ policy in public buses starts Oct. 1

The “no Beep card, no ride” policy will be implemented in public buses traveling in EDSA starting Thursday, October 1.

The policy was created in compliance with the order of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) to prevent the further spread of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) especially in public transportation.

According to the Department of Transportation (DOTr), conductors will not accept cash payments. The department believes that the public is prepared for cashless payments since such transactions are already being done in other modes of public transport.

The Transportation department assured there will be no fare increase despite the use of Beep cards. – PTV News
