Pres. Duterte’s confidence in Sec. Duque remains

President Rodrigo R. Duterte has admitted that there are individuals urging him to turn against DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III amid the PhilHealth anomalies because he is allegedly ruining his administration in relation.

However, President Duterte still stands by his decision to trust Sec. Duque after seeing no reason to charge the latter.

“I have read the findings and for the life of me I cannot really find a good reason to prosecute an innocent man. Mine is to not really prosecute just for the sake of somebody being prosecuted. My job is to see to it that the rule of law (is followed).” – Report from Mela Lesmoras
