PACC now probing Manila Bay rehab

The Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) has started its fact-finding investigation on the Manila Bay rehabilitation project.

PACC Commissioner Greco Belgica disclosed the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has already addressed some issues concerning the funds used in the project while waiting for other documents.

An estimated amount of Php 389 million was allocated for the project, Php 28 million of which is dedicated for the dumping of dolomite sand.

“Secretary Cimatu is cooperating, his people are cooperating. Wala namang problema (There is no problem),” Belgica stated.

“Kaya po tayo nag-iimbestiga dahil kailangan natin ‘yung totoo. Kung may mali, eh di mali. Kung wala, eh di wala (We are investigating to find out the truth. If there are anomalies, then something is wrong. If there is none, then so be it),” he added. – Report from Patrick de Jesus
