President Rodrigo R. Duterte clarified that he is not pinpointing Secretary Mark Villar as part of the corruption at the Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH).
According to Pres. Duterte, DPWH Sec. Villar is wealthy enough to be involved in any irregularities. He pointed out that other lower ranking officials are the ones involved as he disclosed the scale of fraudulence in the department.
DPWH Sec. Villar has formed a task force against graft and corruption. The group has been tasked to submit recommendations on the appropriate actions against those who will be found liable for the anomalies. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
