The Department of Transportation (DOTr) extended the deadline for the implementation of the full cashless transaction in toll expressways until December 1.
The extension means that the toll plazas will not be fully occupied by RFID lanes and motorists without RFID will still be allowed to pass. This will give more time for drivers to acquire an RFID and to ease off the long lines in the installation sites.
The DOTr strictly reminds motorists that the December 1 deadline is final and no further extensions will be given. Toll Regulatory Board Executive Director Abraham Sales has also reiterated that cars entering the expressways without an RFID can be cited for traffic violation after the deadline.
