Suspected member of local terrorist group in Zamboanga City nabbed


A suspected member of a local terrorist group has been arrested in Zamboanga City.

The Western Mindanao Command (WesMinCom) has identified the suspect as Anerson Manambahi Tungayao alias Ganison. Tungayao was caught in a joint operation of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

The suspect is said to be a member of a criminal group connected with the terrorist group based in Sulu. An M-16 rifle was also confiscated from him. Tungayao was brought to the headquarters of the Anti-Kidnapping Group-9 in Zamboanga to face charges. – Report from Bea Bernardo
