Nothing wrong with necklace air purifiers – DOH

Health experts do not see any problem with the use of necklace air purifiers as an additional health protection.

“I don’t know really how it works pero kung sakali (but if ever), as long as we are wearing our masks at wala namang mist na ibinibuga ang mga ganitong technology (and no mist is released), I think it’s not going to cause harm. At wala naman pong masama riyan (and there’s nothing wrong with that),” Department of Health Spokesperson USec. Maria Rosario Vergeire stated.

Vergeire said such devices are not harmful if they do not emit smoke and mist, but emphasized that minimum health standards should always be followed such as wearing of face mask and shields, and observing physical distancing.

The Department of Health (DOH) reiterated that it is not recommending the use of fogging and misting machines in enclosed areas as experts and the World Health Organization (WHO) have proven that they can cause aerosolization. – Report from Kenneth Paciente
