PRRD issues directives for rescue ops

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has instructed different agencies to closely monitor the onslaught of Typhoon #UlyssesPH even before it hit the country.

DILG Sec. Eduardo Año disclosed in the #LagingHanda program aired over PTV that the president gave the directive to prioritize saving lives and giving assistance to those affected.

He assured that there are ongoing rescue operations conducted by members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) for residents trapped on their rooftops particularly in Marikina City, Rizal Province and other flood-prone areas.

The DILG has also dispatched motor boats for the purpose. Once the weather clears, choppers will be sent to augment the rescue operations.

He assured that the government will not stop until the last family in need will be taken out of the submerged places. . – Report from Allan Francisco
