Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Secretary Salvador Panelo has apologized to Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo on his false accusation that the latter boarded a C-130 plane to deliver relief goods to typhoon victims.
Sec. Panelo corrected himself stating that VP Robredo rode a helicopter not a C-130 plane on her way to the Bicol Region on November 3. He clarified that the Vice President can use the airplanes of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) as long as she will not “flaunt that she is the only one working”.
The false accusation of Panelo was initially denied by Robredo. Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenza also confirmed that the Vice President only used the plane for relief items. – PTV News
