Davao City returns to GCQ

The quarantine classification of Davao City has been returned to General Community Quarantine until November 30 due to the increasing number of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases as announced by Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque Friday morning.

Based on the data of the Department of Health (DOH) on November 19, Thursday, Davao City is leading in the rank of areas nationwide with the highest number of COVID-19 cases with 110 new cases.

The Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) will send Coordinated Operations to Defeat Epidemic (CODE) Teams to help the Davao City local government unit (LGU) in its response against the increasing cases.

One Hospital Command Center will be established in the city in order to improve the referral system of the patients infected with the virus.

Accommodation establishments will also be used as quarantine facilities for health workers and other COVID-19 positive patients.
Law enforcement agencies are tasked to lead the implementation of the granular lockdown of barangays with the highest COVID-19 cases in Davao City.

The Davao City Information Office released the statement of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte Thursday saying that the city will comply with any quarantine restriction implemented by the IATF-EID.
