PNP Chief, Police General Debold M Sinas cautioned operators of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO) against withholding information from the police on criminal matters involving POGO workers after a recent incident in Angeles City.

Sinas said, “I am strongly urging POGO operators to closely coordinate with the PNP on security concerns and to refrain from handling these matters on their own.”

The Chief PNP aired the warning as he took note of another case of POGO-related kidnapping that was busted by the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group with the safe rescue of a kidnapped Vietnamese-Chinese POGO worker and the arrest of three suspects on Saturday afternoon in Angeles City.

In his report to the Chief PNP, AKG Director, Police Brig Gen Jonel Estomo said victim Vong Cam Lan, a POGO employee, was rescued at 5:30 PM on Saturday at Unit P Block-9 Lot 10A, Hanin Town Subdivision, Brgy Pampang, Angeles City where he was being held.

Operatives of AKG Luzon Field Unit led by Police Lieutenant Frnklin Dumalaog arrested three oriental-looking men who were with the victim in the residential unit.

Through the aid of an interpreter, the suspects wer apprised of their rights under Philippine Laws. However, upon investigation, the suspects refused to cooperate and repeatedly declined to given their names. The suspects told investigators that their passports were taken from them by their company.

The suspects were brought to the AKG headquarters in Camp Crame for further investigation.
