PNP orders probe on murder of ex-Jolo police chief


Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Debold Sinas has ordered the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) to conduct an investigation on the killing of former Jolo, Sulu police chief.

The Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region has also been directed to do a probe on the case of PLtCol. Walter Annayo who was gunned down in Maguindanao on Saturday, November 21.

Included in the investigation is the murder of four army intelligence officers in Jolo, Sulu last June where nine police personnel were involved.

Annayo was the chief of the Jolo Police that time and was eventually sacked due to the incident.

The police chief disclosed that the Jolo Police personnel have low morale due to Annayo’s death.

The nine policemen involved in the shooting incident which killed four soldiers are under restrictive custody at Camp Crame and are facing investigation. – Report from Bea Bernardo
