SMC Pres. Ang apologizes for Skyway accident

San Miguel Corporation President Ramon Ang has personally apologized for the accident where a steel girder fell at the Skyway Extension in Muntinlupa City on Saturday.

SMC Pres. Ang admitted that “even with a contractor handling construction, ultimately, we are responsible for the welfare of those who were affected. I would like to personally apologize to the victims and their families, as well as to our larger community in Muntinlupa.”

The SMC President has also assured that the company will provide “all the means necessary to recover and restart” for the family of the person who died as well as the 4 individuals injured in the incident.

The contractor of the construction, EEI Corporation has stated that “this is an unfortunate and heart-breaking accident that must not happen again. We will review immediately our safety and operating protocols as we build a strategic infrastructure for the public convenience.” – Report from Mela Lesmoras
