Authorities settle border restriction issue in Baguio

Authorities are resolving the issue on the implementation of border restrictions in the City of Baguio as a preventive measure for possible Coronavirus transmission.

Baguio City has recently implemented border restrictions in some areas in La Trinidad, Sablan, Tuba, and Tublay which will take place until December 4.

They admitted that there was a shortcoming in communication and coordination, but assured that strengthened cooperation is in place.

“Hindi tayo makikipag-away at sasabihin natin doon na makikipag-away tayo. Hindi totoo ‘yan (We will not quarrel with them and say we want to quarrel. That is not true) …Let us just understand them, that was my order,” Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalon clarified.

Meanwhile, the local government of La Trinidad is considering the appeal of the League of Associations in La Trinidad vegetable trading areas to reimplement enhanced community quarantine guidelines in trading areas.

Instead of mass testing, they are pushing for stricter entry of workers and observance of health and safety standards. – Report from Breves Bulsao/PTV Cordillera
