Spox. Roque, Sen. Pacquiao deny violation of quarantine protocols

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque and Senator Manny Pacquiao deny the issue on allegedly violating quarantine protocols in the events they attended.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque participated in a program in Cebu on Friday where the area was crowded by the residents.

According to Sec. Roque, “I was totally taken aback by the huge crowd that came when I went to Cebu yesterday, November 27, to grace the official opening of the Bantayan Island Airport. The venue was open air as it was held by the beach but I had to reiterate for the audience to keep on their masks.”

Roque also pointed out that the said activity was “organized by the local government” which he has “no control as a guest.”

Meanwhile, Senator Pacquiao went to various relief operations in the country. The legislator countered the issues and welcomed “any investigation related to claims that quarantine protocols were violated when we went to Batangas to distribute relief and early Christmas gifts for the people who suffered so much during the Taal Volcano eruption and (from) the series of typhoons that hit Luzon over the past two months.”

Pacquiao firmly assured that the photos and videos “showing what it seems to be violations of the quarantine protocols” were not the “real situation on (the) ground.” He insisted that they were all mindful of the quarantine protocols. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
