Los Baños Mayor shot dead

Los Baños, Laguna Mayor Cesar Perez was shot dead in the municipal hall by an unknown gunman Thursday.

According to the Laguna Police Provincial Office, Perez came from the municipal spa and has been gunned down before 9:00 PM. Two shots were found on the back of his head. The suspect escaped.

Laguna PPO Spokesperson PLt. Col. Chitadel Gaoiran pointed out that a special investigation task group was formed to probe into the shooting. A thorough investigation is ongoing within the vicinity of the municipal hall to determine the possible position of the suspect. Gaoiran disclosed that even the distance of the gunman and the type of gun used are yet to be ascertained.

Mayor Perez was immediately brought to the hospital after the shooting but was declared dead on arrival at around 9:25 PM.

It is still unsure if there was a threat to the Mayor’s life or if the crime has a connection to his name being in the narcolist. Names of officials allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade are in the said list.
