NAIA braces for more passengers amid the holidays, P2P prov’l bus routes out


Terminals are now hosting more passengers as the holiday season nears. Data from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport’s (NAIA) One-Stop-Shop showed a total of 71,524 passengers have landed at the airport from December 1 to 15.

“Noong magde-December na, nag-increase na tayo sa 5,000 capacity daily. Pero on the average, sa aming monitoring nasa 5,200 ang recorded nating dumarating (We increased our capacity to 5,000 daily before December. But on the average, around 5,200 are arriving based on our monitoring),” USec. Raul Del Rosario stated.

“Lumalagpas sa capacity, pero nakahanda tayo riyan. Mayroon tayong buffer number of arrival of passengers na kaya nating i-process (We are beyond capacity but we are ready. We have a buffer number of arriving passengers that we can process),” Del Rosario assured.

The volume of passengers has also increased at the PITX. Ten point-to-point provincial bus routes are set to open on December 21 to accommodate commuters. The routes are as follows:

⦁ Clark, Pampanga – SM North EDSA
⦁ Clark, Pampanga – NAIA Terminal (with limited stop in Ortigas)
⦁ Clark, Pampanga – Lubao, Pampanga (with special stops in San Fernando and Angeles City)
⦁ Clark, Pampanga – Dagupan, Pangasinan (with special stops in Rosales and Urdaneta, Pangasinan)
⦁ Clark, Pampanga – Subic, Zambales (with special stop in Dinalupihan, Bataan)
⦁ NAIA/Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITx) – Baguio City
⦁ Batangas City – Ortigas
⦁ Batangas City – Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITx)
⦁ Lipa City, Batangas – Ortigas
⦁ Lipa City, Batangas – Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITx)
