Duterte slams Trillanes over ICC remarks

President Rodrigo Duterte dissuaded the public from believing the opposition amid the recent report of the International Criminal Court (ICC) on the government’s war against illegal drugs.

The Chief Executive said in his public address on Wednesday night that he is not afraid of being incarcerated.

The ICC indicated in its reports that there is “reasonable basis” to believe that there were crimes against humanity committed under the present administration’s anti-drug campaign.

The recent findings were followed by tirades of his known critique former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV to which President Duterte responded, “huwag kayong maniwala riyan sa — ‘yang kay Trillanes. May ano siya statement. Natatakot daw ako. Hindi ako natatakot uy (Do not believe Trillanes. He has a statement. He said I am afraid. I am not afraid).”

“Ba’t mo ako takutin na magpreso? If it’s my destiny, magpreso ako then magpreso ako… Kami, kung may ginawa kami, sige. Kung makulong, eh ‘di makulong (Why are you threatening me about imprisonment? If it’s my destiny to be jailed, then I will be jailed. If we did something, then we will go to jail),” he added. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
