₱6K standard kasambahay salary pushed

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is proposing the provision of ₱6,000 standard salary for household helpers. The agency considers the current ₱3,000 pay of many housekeepers in the county very low.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III advised employers who cannot pay the proposed amount to their helpers to do the house chores themselves.

Bello has already ordered the labor department to thoroughly evaluate if it is possible to implement the suggested standardized compensation in the National Capital Region (NCR) and other provinces. – PTV News
