Pres. Duterte orders reshuffling at BIR

President #Duterte has ordered the reshuffling of Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) personnel during his first public address this year amid reports of incessant corruption within the bureau.

Pres. Duterte also requested BIR Commissioner Caesar Dulay to submit the list to him so he can review “if it would promote the service of these people to the country”.

“At saka ‘yung medyo may nagkaroon na ng reputasyon, huwag mo nang bigyan ng assignment, sa office mo na lang (Those who gained the reputation, do not give them an assignment, let them work only in your office),” he instructed.

“I request all directors in all departments na kung may mga nadudahan kayo, para hindi kayo madamay, the directors, I would ask you to relieve of that employee and i-assign mo sa opisina mo. I-freeze mo na lang if we cannot stop them (I request all directors in all departments that if you are doubting someone, I would ask you to relieve of that employee and assign them in your office so you won’t have to be dragged. Freeze them if we can stop them),” he stated.

The instruction of the President came after he disclosed in public anew the names of government personnel dismissed and suspended from service due to reported involvement in irregularities and corruption. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
