DOJ files raps vs. 9 cops in Jolo shooting incident


The 9 police officers in the Jolo, Sulu shooting incident in June 2020 have been charged with 4 counts of murder and planting of evidence by the Department of Justice (DOJ).

According to the DOJ, the victims were rendered incapable of defending themselves as the event transpired. The investigation showed that the suspects planted a gun to make it appear that one of the victims was hostile.

Meanwhile, the charge of neglect of duty was filed against their superiors, Police Colonel Michael Bawayan, Jr., Police Major Walter W. Annayo and Police Captain Ariel J. Corcino was junked. – PTV News
