PNP ready to give more evidence vs. Nuezca


The Philippine National Police (PNP) is prepared to submit further evidence regarding the case of former Police SSgt. Jonel Nuezca in case the court requires them.

The assurance came from PNP Chief Gen. Debold Sinas following queries on the PNP’s readiness to provide the neuropsychiatric record of Nuezca.

Many parties have expressed worry that Nuezca may resort to the excuse of temporary insanity for his absolution from the two counts of murder filed against him.

“I hope our government prosecutors will be ready to assail and demolish the insanity defense Nuezca’s lawyer will mount,” Iligan City Rep. Frederick Siao advised.

Jonel Nuezca was recently dismissed from police service weeks after he was recorded in a video shooting two unarmed neighbors in Tarlac. – Report from Bea Bernardo
