Bontoc contact tracing boosted


The team of additional contact tracers have arrived in Bontoc, Mountain Province following the reported cases of COVID-19 United Kingdom (UK) variant in the area.

As part of the government’s measure to strengthen tracing efforts, contact tracers from the Department of Health (DOH) in Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Region 1, and Region 3 came in to assist the Bontoc.

According to the local government of Bontoc, the DOH will be conducting community testing to determine if the residents are already safe from the virus.

As of Monday morning, there are more than 200 cases of COVID-19 in Mountain Province.
It was also confirmed that two of the UK variant cases are children. Authorities are urging residents anew to comply with minimum health protocols to prevent further transmission. – PTV News
