3 Boracay tourists with fake test results turn out positive for COVID-19

The Department of Tourism (DOT) confirmed that three tourists in Boracay have tested positive for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) after gaining entry in the island using fake RT-PCR test results.

The DOT has immediately coordinated with the Malay local government unit (LGU) for contact tracing and monitoring. The three tourists are currently under quarantine in an Aklan training center. They are charged with violation of the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Disease and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act and Bayanihan to Heal as One Act for submitting fake documents.

The Malay LGU is now considering the declaration of persona non grata against those who are found guilty of faking swab test results. – PTV News
